How To Get Your Mindset Right For Your Job Search

A job search is a mental game as much as it is physical these days. Gearing up for interviews and trying to present your best self can take a toll if you aren’t taking care of your mind. With that being said, we want to talk about a few phrases you should avoid asking yourself because they could be hindering your job search!

Looking for a new job takes time and energy so telling yourself you don’t have time to job hunt won’t give you much room for progress. But it’s important to remember that trying to dedicate every free second to the job search will be counterproductive. It’s best to set some time aside a few days a week to look for your future job and focus during that time.

You always hear that networking is the top way to land a job. While it is important, it isn’t the only way to get that job offer. Telling yourself that you don’t know anyone can put you in a mindset where you don’t think you can land a great role at a competitive company, which you can. It’s best to not create relationships solely for your career so build the connections you want and let it build from there. Create genuine and trusted relationships that are strong. Once these relationships are built, you never know when you could be just the right person for a position at your friends’ company.

You got this!
